Community workers are once again out and about at Marina de Plaisance in Longueuil, in order to save the day for any kind of rescue. Pierre Hardy and his team of 29 community workers are going to offer a 24/7 service of water supervision on Saint-Laurent river, covering mostly the water between Montreal and Vercheres. They are operating on two engines, the regular red patrol boat and a new Jet Ski in order to be able to offer a better service to other Jet Ski enthusiasts if they ever feel the need. Hardy pointed out that incidents have been increasing over the past years. We went from 1278 in 2008 to 1381 in 2009, Hardy wants to put everything in his power to reduce these alarming numbers.
